As a current Pacific Northwesterner and a admirer of the outdoors, I have slowly learned that one of the best ways to appreciate the world around us is to capture it on camera. In my opinion, there is no better art than what mother nature has created and although a photo doesn't do the real scene justice, it still succeeds any man made art out there.
I first became interested in photography when I became a new mother, I couldn't put down the camera, I was so obsessed with how beautiful my baby was. I then combined this learning knowledge with my other love, the great outdoors. My husband, children and myself try to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, this includes hiking, camping, kayaking, you name it. As a part of this learning process I have realized that my style of photography is simplicity, I don't like to alter a photo of nature too much, just small enhancements to make the image as similar as possible as I am seeing it in real life. I hope you enjoy the photos, I will update the website gallery as often as I can capture great photos!
" I felt like lying down by the side of the trail and remembering it all. The woods do that to you, they always look familiar, long lost, like the face of a long-dead relative, like an old dream, like a piece of forgotten song drifting across the water, most of all like golden eternities of past childhood or past manhood and all the living and the dying and the heartbreak that went on a million years ago and the clouds as they pass overhead seem to testify (by their own lonesome familiarity) to this feeling."
